Brand Messaging Strategy: A Holistic Approach to Attracting Soul-Aligned Clients

Have you ever found yourself sitting at your computer… cursor blinking… wondering to yourself…

How in the world am I going to come up with the right words to attract clients?

The truth is, when we’re not fully grounded in your messaging, our audience can tell.

If they can’t clearly see the transformative path you offer, they’re going to lean towards someone whose messaging is confidently sharing their truth.

You may be seeking something like a checklist— a quick task to fix all of your issues.

But the clarity you seek won’t come from trying harder or quick fixes, but rather from slowing down and listening inward.

I invite you to join me in gently uncovering the essence of your messaging so that when someone discovers you, they feel an immediate resonance with how you can support them on their journey.

We’re about to dive into a holistic, 6-part approach to building a solid foundation for your brand messaging.

Holistic Brand Messaging Strategy to Attract Soul Clients

1. Start With Why

Take a minute to consider what originally pulled you toward this type of work.

Did you overcome a particular struggle? Was there a moment that shifted everything?

Your “why” holds the soul of your business—and your brand messaging.

And when your “why” is rooted in your lived experience, it becomes magnetic. 🧲

Storytelling drives deep connection. Tell your story. People will listen… If it comes from a place of authenticity.

I’ll be sharing a journal entry for each section that will allow you to go even deeper. Your truth lies there.

Journal entry: If money weren’t a factor, would I still do this work?

2. Your Big Vision—It Matters

Now that we’ve looked deeply inward, let’s zoom out for a moment.

Look at the bigger picture.

What kind of ripple do you want to create in the world 5 years from now… 10 years from now?

What do you believe your brand is capable of?

Changing the status quo?

Shifting the norms?

Making a difference in the world?

Finding your why is like starting the motor. Identifying your vision is adding the steering wheel.

You can have all the drive you want, but without direction, you’ll probably end up in a wreck.

But please remember—as humans, we are always evolving, and so are our brands. These big visions can change, and your brand messaging framework will as well.

I don’t expect your goals to be the same now as they will be 10 years from now.

🌻 So give yourself grace and go with what feels right for you at this point in time.

Journal entry: What systems do I feel called to challenge? I believe in a world where ______ is possible.

3. The Problem You Solve

Let’s get specific here.

What problems do you solve?

Hold on. Before you answer that, fight the urge to write a big list of all the features of your work.

Instead, consider what your audience really gets from you.

Go beyond the tangible. 🔮

Talk about the transformation. The shift. The change in energy, mindset, or possibility.

Now take a moment to reflect on your methods… your magic.✨That special something that takes people from feeling stuck to empowered.

An effective brand messaging strategy solves problems. People want to know how you’re going to change their lives. So tell them!

Journal entry: What do my people feel after working with me that they couldn’t access before?

4. Know Your People, Not Just Demographics

It’s time to get intimate with your dream client (in the most appropriate way).

But before you start, I encourage you to be mindful of your approach. Sure, you could go through the motions and check “market research” off the list. Or you could view it as a loving practice of empathy—doing your best to help solve their problems. 💛

You need to take a walk in their shoes. Go deep into their inner world.

What are they struggling with? Like, really struggling with.

What are they yearning for? Maybe they don’t even realize it.

As you spend time getting to know your dream client as deeply as possible, ask yourself where they’re trying to go. If they’re at Point A, where is their Point B?

Journal entry: What is Point A of my dream client’s journey? Where are they right now? What is Point B of their journey? What are they working towards and how can I help them?

5. You Are the Medicine

We just determined what problems you need to solve.

But that means you need to know how to solve them.

That might feel a bit overwhelming, but I’m willing to bet you are much more prepared than you realize.

Consider your own life and story. What has prepared you for this work?

Not just professionally… but spiritually, emotionally, intuitively.

What have you walked through—what lessons have you learned that now allow you to hold space for others?

No one else shares your exact experiences. And even if they did, they won’t learn the same things you did.

🌟 Your uniqueness is your superpower. It truly is the key to standing out with ease.

Journal entry: What unique skills and experiences set me apart from the rest?

6. Your Brand is an Energy, Not Just a Strategy

It’s so easy to get caught up in the technical details of brand messaging strategy. And while those things have their place, you don’t want it to get in the way of the most important part of messaging:

How your reader feels.

When people interact with your brand, what feelings do you want to invoke?

Let go of the lame mindset that your brand should be a polished mask of yourself. Get that sh** outta here! 😤

Instead, it should be a living, breathing reflection of who you are. Enough of trying to sound like everyone else.

Journal entry: What are 3 words I want to embody in my presence and voice?

Bring Your Brand Messaging to Life

We laughed. We cried. We journaled.

Now it’s time to start tying this all together.

Take some time to reflect on what you learned in each section as well as any journal entries you made.

Do you notice any patterns? Any recurring themes?

Are there any answers that felt especially energized, alive, or true?

I encourage you to highlight or make note of those moments—they are the anchors of your brand messaging.

Still Feeling Fuzzy?

Maybe you don’t feel clarity yet. Don’t stress! It doesn’t all come at once.

The messaging is already within you. You just have to keep listening.
